What this site knows about you

Almost nothing. You can read every pattern without an account, and nothing here is sold, shared or used for advertising.

the short version

Reading needs no account

Every pattern, drawing and demo on this site is open to read with no sign-up. If you never sign in, this site stores nothing about you beyond the ordinary server records described further down.

There is no advertising, no tracking pixel and no analytics product on this site. No third party is paid or allowed to follow you around because you visited.

if you sign in

What is stored, and why

Signing in is done through Google. This site never sees or stores your password. When you sign in, Google passes over 3 things, which are kept in the site’s database:

  • Your email address - it is how your account is recognised the next time you come back.
  • Your name, as it is on your Google account - shown to you in the menu, so you know you are signed in.
  • A link to your Google profile photo - shown as the small circle in the menu. The photo itself stays on Google’s servers.

The date you first signed in and the date you last signed in are kept too, so the member count on this site is a real number rather than a guess.

What you save is stored against your account too: which patterns you saved, the note you wrote on each, and the collections you made. All of it is private. If you choose to share a collection by link, that page shows only the collection name, its patterns and your first name - never your notes or your email. Press “Stop sharing” and the link stops working.

Cookies

1 cookie is used, and only after you sign in: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is signed and encrypted, and it holds nothing but your sign-in.

There are no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies, which is why this site has no cookie banner to click away.

who else is involved

The 3 companies in the chain

This site is built by 1 person, not a company, and runs on services anyone can rent. 3 of them necessarily handle data:

  • Google - handles the sign-in itself and knows you signed in to this site.
  • MongoDB Atlas - stores the database described above.
  • Vercel - hosts the site and, like any web host, keeps ordinary server records of requests, including IP addresses, for a short period. These are used to keep the site running, not to profile anybody.

Your details are not sold, rented or passed to anyone else, and there is no mailing list.

it is yours

Deleting your account

At the bottom of My library there is a Delete my account button. It asks once, then removes your account, every saved pattern and note, and every collection, including shared links, at that moment. No reason needed and nothing is kept back.

To ask what is held about you, or to have something corrected, contact the author, Abhi Chatterjee, through avidmind.design, from the email address you signed in with.

if this page changes

Changes to this page

The date at the top is the date this page last changed. If what is collected ever changes meaningfully, this page changes first, and anyone with an account is told.

The terms of use cover what you may do with the content here, and the takedown page covers product screenshots.
